Zusammenfassung – The One Minute Manager

20. Februar 2006

Vorallem was das Thema Mitarbeitergespräche angeht.

One Minute Goals
– Agree on goals
– One page to read and re-read for each goal (re-read in 1 minute)
– Check your goals and performance regularly

One Minute Praisings
– Tell people up front that you are going to let them know how they are doing
– Praise immediately
– Tell people what they did right
– Be specific
– Tell people how you feel about
– Stop for a moment of silence to let them feel how good you feel
– Encourage them to do more of the same
– Shake hands or touch people
Key to training someone to do a new task is, in the beginning, to catch them doing something approximately right until they can eventually learn to do it exactly right (!!!)
– Do not catch people to do something wrong
– Rather than punish people you need to go back to goal setting and make sure they understand what is expected of them, and that they have seen what good performance looks like

One Minute Reprimands
– Reprime, express your feelings about and then praise
– Immediate feedback
– Be specific
– Do not save up negative feelings
– Performance review as an ongoing process
Reprimand the behaviour only and not the person -> Their behaviour is not OK. They are OK. (!!!)
Be first though on the behaviour and then supportive of the person

– People Who Feel Good About Themselves – Produce Good Results
– Help People Reach Their Full Potential – Catch Them Doing Something Right
– The Best Minute I Spend Is The One I Invest In People
– Everyone Is A Potential Winner – Some People Are Disguised As Loosers, Don’t Let Their Appearances Fool You
– Take A Minute: Look At Your Goals – Look At Your Performance – See If Your Behavior Matches Your Goals
– We Are Not Just Behavior – We Are The Person Managing Our Behavior
– A problem only exists if there is a difference between what is actually happening and what you desire to be happening
– You can hire winners or train a person to become a winner

Gerade der letzte Absatz ist doch exterm ermutigend. Lasst uns viele Leute zu Gewinnern machen!
